E34 M5 or 2002tii?

Just curious as to thoughts on this...
I'm considering replacing my '72 2002tii with a '91 M5. Similar usage (weekend toy). Unfortunately, the 2002 is just too low-geared for the sustained 85mph cruising speeds in CA and without A/C, unbearable in the 90+ degree heat so I'm looking for a better highway car with air conditioning.
I'd love to hear what you guys have experienced in terms of maintenance schedules and costs on your M5s.

I agree I've driven a 2002 daily for a couple months. It's fun, no doubt but I'm personally not into that car. Love it, but I don't lol. It feels like your shifting a tractor, and the gears are Sooooo short.
