I never paid for membership and always used the free memberships. It doesn't matter much with my Cable ISP max speed if 1.2Mbps. MU always maxes it. RS sucks these days because they keep deleting files. But there are a few servers that give decent speeds. 180upload and putlocker gave me my max 1.2 a few times. BS (bitshare) and BU (billionuploads) are also good sometimes, giving ~300-500 mbsp. For the 2-3 TV shows that I sometimes missed, that's good enough for me. Giving me the file on my computer in 5 - 25 minutes.

I stopped torrenting a couple of years ago. It's such a messy headache process to torrent in comparison to servers.

the only downside of torrents that I know of is that RIAA monitor them... get a blocklist and update it constantly (you can schedule the update) - then you have no issues...

Yup, that is exactly what I do.

Which program do you use?

PeerBlock. Which is blocking 1,049,059,586 IPs right now on my computer.

If I use a torrent, that thing will light out like NYC Rock' Center Xmas Tree.

Downloading from a server does nothing to it.

But RIAA will get you anyway if they want to. They regularly mask themselves as a regular torrent user.
