propshaft quiery

Hi guys I'm dropping a 2.8 out of a 94 328 estate into my 99 compact. Was just wondering if the 2.8 prop will fit in, I was hoping to use the box prop and diff out of the 2.8, didn't know how my old ones would cope with the power, it's only the 1.9 8 valve and if the anti roll bar could be some how fitted to the rear, as the compacts don't have one unfortunately, any help much appreciated

The compacts have the rear sub-frame and differential from the earlier E30s, so I highly doubt you will be able to use either the propshaft or differential from the later E36 328.

No, it won't swap over. E30s and E36s use different sub-frames.

Only problem is I'm not sure if my 1.9 prop and diff(welded) will take the power, the engine is supposed to be running around 220 bhp...

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't trust it to handle that power over an extended period of time. Since the E36 compact uses the rear end out of an E30 BMW, you can most likely use the stronger rear end from a 6-cylinder E30 BMW.
