Navigation
Is it believable that it takes over 2 weeks to recalibrate the Navigation at the VPC from GA to USA. This is what they are saying is holding up delivery of our GT....if that is the case there are a lot of ED's being held up on a Tech problem.....![]() In follow-up to the vehicle prep center status, the vehicle requires a navigation system switch from GA to USA. There is an issue with the software. Unfortunately the VPC cannot make the change for the navigation system at this moment. The technicians are doing the diagnosis and the VPC will proceed as soon as the software is updated. |

Not sure exactly how long mine took, as instead of having it delivered, I had it delivered at the performance center in SC, and my reservation there was awhile after it got to the states. But, unless they figured out why the thing doesn't work as well in the USA as it did in Germany and have a fix, it should only take an hour or so to load the new maps on the thing. Now, maybe if you're (lucky?), they are waiting for a new map version they (may) know is coming.
FWIW, BMW's cost for new maps is a lot more than you'd spend on a hand-held unit. |
