Actually if you have a custom order you get it built quicker than if it is a dealer speculative car for inventory. You move to the head of the line.

pharding is spot on. Cars in the order queue marked "customer sold" get built before cars for inventory.
Also, see my comments in this post here for additional information about how long it takes to get an X3 in the USA after the order is placed.
