$2000 battery replacement..I may set a new record!

I had heard from a 2007 M6 owner and BMW tried to do the same thing when he went in for an aux retrofit. They said the radio needed to be replaced because it could not be updated properly. With their tools that may be a true, but with a BMW tools package (NCS Expert) it can be done.

If you had the tools to do it yourself (or even found a vendor in your area to do it), you would have spent half that amount. An AGM switch over requires programming and registration, but it is not a hair-pulling process.

I hate to break it to you Bro' I did the AGM switch for $235, which included the AGM 850 cca battery and reprogramming by dealer in Lakeland. I have the same AGM battery that BMW installs only not their name on it. Can't say I agree with the SAT radio option issue you have. I would definitely go to a third party and perhaps BMW NA Customer Service to have somebody review your part number for compatibility, etc. Good Luck.

As a side note... I go to the Lakeland dealership also. The other local (Orlando area) dealerships suck.
