The future is now! The all new 6 series coupe (F12) and convertible (F13) details are out and dealers are taking orders. Still no word on when the 4 door Gran Coupe will go into production. |

Would you leave your 650 for a M6?
Given the huge lost of value of an used MY12, would you bite the bullet and go for a M6?
I feel tempted...

If money were no issue, then yes.
Since money and reality must be factored into the decision, (a) the hit by selling my car right now is sickening to think about and (b) the M6 is more car than I need - this is assuming I need an impractical, $100k, V8 BMW - and costs more than I'm willing to spend right now.

Since I own my '12 650i w/M Sport I'm seriously considering the Dinan Stage 2 for spring '13, or I'll keep it another year and maybe order a '14 M6. Needless to say, alot depends on how the economy goes in the coming year, or so (Nov 6).

No... The lack of fog lights on the front of the M6 is a deal breaker for me... Plus I've never actually driven one so ignorance is bliss.. Finally the Dinan Stage 2 would cure any power fix that I might need later on down the line...

You can easily add foglights. Plenty of people did that on the E63 M6.

I don't know, maybe $75k to $85k. That's a guestimate, but the 3013 changes aren't doing us any favors as brand new '12s are going for so much less now. I knew when I bought it outright that I'd hold onto it for a few years as the depreciation hit would be brutal.

Are you certain that the 2013s have accelerated the depreciation rate of the 2012s? Are the differences that significant?

It wont fetch more than 75k, best case scenario. That, in a car worth 105k MSRP as new 6 months ago... They have some 2012 M6 in the area, one listed for 110k (titled, 700mls). Still a lot of money...
Great news is that Dinan extended their special, I'm getting it uploaded tomorrow...

I don't really bother about the low appraisal. A little fight it may go up to 78-80. My guess is that the numbers with stealerships are problematic now given a lot of MY12 leftovers

Im perfectly satisfied with my 650i, 400 hp is more than enough and around these parts you really can't go much past 80 mph on the Interstates. Buying an M6 is a huge waste of money
for me and just plain doesn't make much economic or practical sense.
