Any Pics of Black Factory Grills installed on 650i?

Here are some pics I stole of Jonny's car...

The M grills are different, as they are not flat black. The internal slats have a glossy look to them and almost appear chrome in bright light.

I was not a huge fan when I took them out of the box, but now that they are on the car I am happy I bought them. Not happy with the installation process, though.

Those would like great on a white coupe with shadow line trim.

While we are on the topic, what is the difference between the 640 front grill and the 650. It seems like the 640 is chrome on the front and black on the sides? And the 650 is just chrome all around?

I think they're the same - unlike the X5/X6 50i v. 35i.

I am not sure about the coupe, but I saw a 650 and 640 gran coupe today. The 640 has black on the sides of the column wile the 650 is silver on the sides. If I could choose I think I would prefer the 640 grill.

Maybe it's different for the GC. The 1st is a 640i M Sport Coupe, and the 2nd is my coupe.

Edit - Are you talking about the sides of the slats? Now that I look at it, the 640i is black plastic while the 650i is a gray color.

To make it even more complicated, looks like the 650i + night vision = black plastic.....

Are you sure the above picture is a 650i? That makes me feel better since I got night vision, even though I think the night vision thing itself looks horrible.

Yep. The picture is from a Car and Driver review on the 650i.

I'm pretty sure the 6cyl bimmers get the black plastic while the 8cyl ones get the gray/silver ... same goes for the F10 (for sure) and the X5/6 (pretty sure on that one as well).
Southerner brings up a good point, although you can't trust the pics on the mags...they often post pics of cars that are clearly not whet they say they are - a trained eye can always spot the details.
Anyone with a 650 and night vision that can share pics - I'm curious now.

I prefer the gray look in the 650 over the black...makes it look richer.

We confirmed it on 6post. Andreo received his 650 with night vision and his grill is black.

I have a 650 with night vision.

Sides of the grille slats on mine are matte black plastic. Just the grille surrounds and faces of the grille slats are chrome, just like that of the 640.

They probably did that to flow better with the night vision camera housing which is also a matte black plastic. The camera housing is molded onto the grille which is why they aren't interchangeable with the non-night vision grilles.

I agree that the silver sides on the grille slats look better and richer, however, mine will be all gloss back soon enough so it doesn't really matter to me. Either gonna paint them or vinyl wrap.

I don't have pics of mine but I am 1 million % sure. I have studied them extensively to see how I will make them gloss black.

I can confirm that the 640i has a different grill from the 650i just like the X6 and X5. the 640i has a black side and the 650i has a silver titanium grill.
