Spoiler
I really want to put on a spoiler for my 535xi but the stealership wants like $400 for it plus another $300+ paint and install. Any suggestions?
I want an OEM style, but don't want to lay out that kind of bread. I was thinking about getting the M5 lip design but I think that would come off a little fake since I don't an M5. Is there a company out there that has good quality materials? Would BMW paint and install anything they don't sell me? |

The spoiler I purchased was an M5 style that came prepainted from Taiwan and was delivered in 6 days via FedX for a total of $102. Installation was a breeze and the color match was indistinguishable from the original paint. If you need a source I can look up where I purchased it. The name was something like "Chopshop". |

Go to eBay and pick any number of spoiler sellers from Taiwan. They are all nearly the same and paint quality and fittment is fantastic ( depending on supplier, BMW chop shop gets good reviews). Both my roof spoiler and M5 lip spoiler are products of Taiwan and came painted with excellent fit and finish for about $170.

If by spoiler you mean lip, and i really hope you do! eBay sells them for a decent dime a dozen for an M5 replica for the E60 body.

I got mine from Chopshop, or whatever the name, on ebay for around $90. It shipped via Fedex and arrived in 5 days. Perfect ft and finish, just prep the edge of the trunk by wiping off wax with alcohol, apply glue accelerant and press the spoiler on. It comes with all this stuff and has double sided tape. Just do it on a warm day so the tape adheres better.

Roof spoiler is strictly aesthetic, not functional. Looks great on the e60, though...

Ok.. So I was just about to buy the M5 lip from BMWChop on ebay, but I got cold feet. I was at the car wash today and have a front custom license plate on it placed on with 3M tape...pretty strong stuff. Anyway, the car wash tore the customs plate off which started me to think whether the lip would suffer the same fate in a car wash.
Has anyone purchased a lip from BMWChop and had an issue with it coming off for one reason or the other? |

No, it stay on very firmly. Take wax off with alcohol pad, then use the glue accelerant that comes with the kit. Stays on very strong.
