Can 2004 BMW X3 radio be adapted for aux port

Hello. I have a 2004 BMW X3 with a business cd radio. I would like to connect an ipod/iPhone to it. I noticed there is a wire that you can buy to connect to radio for this. Not sure my radio will allow this. When I pressed the m button on the radio as directed I get the message SN 31114029. Not sure if this means I can or can't do this. Please help
Thanks George
