DSC question

My car has decided to initiate the DSC system for no reason. As if it believes it's on ice. It MAY seem it happens more so on right turns. The ABS light flashes 3 times and the RPM's drop. It seems I can drive with the DSC disabled by depressing the DSC button.

In fact, if you hold the DSC button down for 5 secs. or something like that doesn't it just activate the ABS and NOT the engine RPM's?(the light in the dash on-yellow triangle)

Is this a sign of:
brake dust
A bad speed sensor?

Any one have experience with this?

DSC question UPDATE

This is an update to my DSC system engaging intermittently.

I am somewhat embarrassed to report that my drivers side tire was very low.

Yes I did notice a slight pull and thought the pressure was probably low, but not that it would initiate a DSC failure.

Sometimes ya win one!

It (easter egg mode) only slightly reduces the threshold for engine throttle reduction...allowing a bit more wheel slippage than normal. Similar to the later BMWs that actually have a DTC button on the dash to do basically the same thing. DTC is probably a bit more pronounced since it was an officially sanctioned & engineered feature.

Apparently the low inflation caused enough difference in wheel rotation between the left/right side that engine throttle reduction was innitiated to prevent what it thought was understeer...especially in a curve. I wouldn't call that DSC failure...but DSC working as it should based on the left/right wheel rotation ratio.

(Understeer would be the unintentional path indicated by the RED dots...when the path desired would be the GREEN dots)

You are correct Qsilver. The system performed as designed.

However, my brain did not.
