X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

Eliminating/disabling fog lamps on 2013 X6 3.5i xDrive

Hi everyone,

I just installed an aftermarket M-style bumper on my 2013 X6 3.5i Xdrive. The new bumper came with no fog light holes in the mesh bumper. The installer left the bulbs hang inside the bumper. The problem is that when I turn, the lights come on and it looks like a lightning bug is trapped behind the grille. What I did was take it out. The problem that creates is an error message that the fog lights are out. The question that I have is: How do I go about disabling this message or better yet putting in some kind of dummy bulb to let the electric current through but not actually light up inside the grilleClick image for larger version

You need to code the fog lights to make this go away

Do you mean code the computer or coat the actual physical bulbs?
