2013 X3, Only one exhaust pipe works?
Hi, I have a 2013 X3 28i (2 Litre Turbo). Recently, I've noticed that there is only vapor coming out of one of exhaust pipes (right pipe). Does the exhaust work this way or is something wrong? Thanks a lot!

This is the way that it works. When you go above a certain RPM (~4k IIRC) the other pipe opens up as well. There is a way you can make both exhaust tips work all the time (search for golf tee mod) but it gets a little droney for my taste.
Note that if you try the mod, some places tell you to go under the car and unhook a vacuum line and plug it with a golf tee. Better approach for us is to unplug the solenoid in the hatch just behind the access panel on the left side. It's the only plug back there that looks like that.

I want to add that this is done to increase back pressure at low RPMs. I believe this has an important effect on the turbo performance, so I wouldn't modify this behavior unless you really know why you want to make the change.
