6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

winter car
So, need to put the 650 up for the winter and thinking of what to get. Suggestions,
I was thinking awd and turbo maybe have some fun with that, was also thinking older porsche c4 / c4s as its awd. Maybe older s4. Thoughts or opinions i'm in Indiana, not sure how bad it will get this year but gotta be prepared. |

I drive a Miata with a hardtop because it's surprisingly good in snow (with real snow tires), and 'disposable' ($) if something were to happen. Did it 2 years w/o hardtop, and it was fine that way, but I finally found a hardtop for it so I picked it up.

What's the budget?
I used to have a Jeep Grand Cherokee but it developed a fetish for tow trucks and mechanics so it had to go. I looked for a used 328 xdrive in either sedan or wagon but wanted a stick shift and could not find any good ones. Looked at X5's and same story. I ended up special ordering a MINI Countryman All4. It was not my first choice but at this point I'm glad I got it. It keeps me in the BMW family - sort of - and there are some upgrades available to make it fun and personalized. It's rather zippy, much better on gas than the Jeep, very practical, I don't care if the dogs get it dirty and it did great in what little snow we had last year. It now has 13k miles and has been totally bullet proof. I've done several mods including cold air intake, turbo heat shield, exhaust with dual 4 inch tips, some chrome blackout, and the quad driving lights. Not very subtle, but quite effective for getting the attention of slow pokes in the left lane. ![]()

The car has somewhere around 108,000 miles on it. The car was repainted around 2 years ago, & the paint is black. The paint had to much pitting on the front of the car, so he had it repainted. The body is in excellent condition. The engine has had the head reworked, new cams, header, & some other work. New performance clutch, & transmission has been beefed up. The tranny is a 5 speed, AWD. Tires have around 4k miles & the rims are the factory Enkei. Interior is very clean & all original. The stereo system has been upgraded. He is selling the car due to a growing family. His asking price is around 14k. I will get some pics later this week when he's off.
If anyone is interested, let me know! Last edited by HerbP; 10-29-2012 at 07:27 PM. |

Well ended up finding a killer deal on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler that's got a 3" suspension lift and 33's already on it. Never had a lifted jeep or 4x4 for that matter so looking to see what kinda fun toy i can make this into for the winter.
Defiantly going to miss the heated steering wheel of the 6 though

Welcome to the club! This is my 2000 with 4" lift and 33's. Love it, you can always count on the Jeep for being reliable. You might want to have the fluids changed in the differentials and transfer case. It is good to have some fresh fluid in those...
Plus during the summer you can four wheel through the trails with the fella's. |
