Airbag light comes on intermitently

Hello everyone,

I did a quick search and haven't found exactly what I was looking for. So I turn to you with my question.

A few months ago, my airbag light came on while driving but promptly went away. I didn't think too much of it considering it didn't come back on. Now, this past weekend driving home with the gf, the light came on and came off again. Then, it came on again then went away again. It did that for a few more times and then stopped. It didn't light up for a good 45 minutes to an hour after that for the rest of the drive until I got close to home and flicked on then off.

I haven't gone to the dealership yet nor have I called. I doesn't affect the car's driving or anything, it just affects the driver (me!) when that little light comes on for no apparent reasons.

The car is a 2004 M3 with 107 000 miles.

Very odd, since the airbag light normally needs to be cleared by a code reader.

At what point does it come on and go off? If it is trigger by something that you do then you have to eliminate that. Let us know when it pops on and off ok?

Thank you very much for the replies.
Unfortunately I will not be able to test or try anything until spring. Old man winter has dropped some snow in my area. The city has put down salt to rid us of the apparently unwanted white stuff. That said, my car won't come out from hiding until mid to end of May.

I will definately keep this in mind.
