Ordering 2013 BMW X5

Hi guys! new too bimmerfest. Currently own a 2007 BMW 525 xi and recently traded in a 2008 land rover lr3 for the new 2013 bmw x5. Has anyone ordered an x5-how long does it typically take? Is there a way to speed up the process? Thanks!

Go to E70 forums for more up-to-date answer, this one is for E53 older X5.

Typically it takes about 5-6 weeks to order BMW, make sure dealer has an X5 allocation (ask if they have status 150 ready to go). They may surprise you know the code number

Status 150 is for vehicle ready to go into production that can still be configurable (option/color etc). once it goes to status 151 is no longer configurable.

No other way to speed the process, unless you want to pick it up in Spartarnburg SC and drive it to Chicago, it may shave 2-weeks of wait time.

BTW, I'd wait for the newest X5, E70 chasis is going to be obsoleted. maybe sometime in 2013.
