2012 750i rear window

The rear window in my 750i cracked three weeks ago to the point the window had to be removed. When the glass company went to order a replacement window through the BMW dealership in Charlotte they were told that it was back ordered for three weeks from Germany. Now well into the third week we are being told they do not know when they are coming in and there are another 200 back ordered in the US alone. Has anyone else had similar problems?

maybe the storm is the reason? ships are on the ride outside the port

Assume relatively low volume of 7-series is part of the issue.
Also, that the car is assembled in Germany.
I have a similar problem. One of my rear headrests is damaged (from child car seat).
I inquired about purchasing a replacement and was told there are NONE available anywhere, and BMW won't let my dealer order one.
I have an excellent rapport with my dealer and do not believe they would misinform me, but just to be sure I spoke with two other dealer parts departments also and got the same answer.
None available and can not be ordered.
Strange.

Wow, you're not joking - I just checked around and sure enough F01/2 glass is a hot commodity. Don't tell the vandals...

Is it being replaced under warranty? If not, consider local wrecking yards. Since 2009 I am sure a number of these cars are standing by.

I gotta ask...why will the dealer not order a part you need, why won't BMW allow them? I understand, and it is common practice nowadays (sadly) to not keep parts stocked, but why can't they order the part you need? I'm baffled!
