Tire wear?

Who's burnt up a set of tires? I was surprised to see my 20" rear Dunlops down to the wear bars after only 11,700 miles! Also slightly surprised it wasn't typical BMW rear camber/toe wear - they're simply worn down uniformly across the tread. I think I'll mount a set of Michelin non-runflats and see how they fare. This was the first set of runflats I didn't jettison immediatley but it looks like they took care of themselves.

15k miles on a set of ultra high performance summer tires would be pretty common.

12k is a little sad, but it can happen with aggressive driving.

I have a clutch pedal on my 650 vert

I'm about 2,000 miles behind you and about the same rate of wear. I'm keeping the tires on as long as I can. At least until the first major snow storm with the hopes of wearing them out so I don't have to put on some worn tires by the time spring rolls around. BMW tires don't last very long.

Both tires on the passenger side has been replaced (thank you wheel and tire insurance) and the driver side tires are still original. I'm current just shy of 21k miles and they are holding up well. My SA looked at the tires at first oil change at ~14.5k miles and said there was plenty of tread left.

Rears @ 18K, Fronts still going at 26K and nearing their end of life.

Damn, I can't keep up with y'all. I'm a little over 10 months in and only have about 6800 miles on the odometer.

I envy you! Sadly, I got the car end of May and I crossed 21k miles.

I don't get out much lol. It's the bittersweet side of living in a small town. My daily commute is about 7 miles round trip. I do try to make the most of those 7 miles - if I don't hear the turbos kick in or get pinned to the seat, then it's a wasted trip

Even more sadly, most of my commute is on cruise control. I'm wasting precious miles in this car. I'm thinking of getting a commuter and using the 6er on nights and weekends.

If I lived in South Florida I'd have 30k on the odo by now, as it is, I only have 5800 miles, coming up on my one year at the end of this month.

Why get a commuter? I take the position that I buy what I want and drive the wheels off of it and then replace it. Life is short...enjoy it.

Funny you should say that as both of our rides turned one year old this month. I am in South Florida and alas I have 30k miles. A 650i is on my short list for the next car. I really like yours....

Nah...just drive it. On a serious note...I am thinking of getting a 650i (probably the "top down" version) in a couple of years. I know you have had a few 6 series cars. Do you have concerns of being out of warranty on them?

Dunlops are some of the softest tires out there so dont expect too much.

Just put new tires on. The non-RFTs I put on to replace the origjnal tires were wearing down faster than the Dunlop RFTs.

I decided to put Bridgestone Potenza RFTs on (Had these on my previous 6s and a 545 before that).

So far, it's a great ride.
