No penalty for using 'red dye" diesel due to Sandy
Limited time only. I am not "encouraging" the use of red dyed Diesel nor do I even know if it will work in our low sulfur vehicles but since the topic has been presented a number of times I thought I would share this IRS tax page on the waiver...ymmv
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-...urricane-Sandy PS - On second review, I am not so certain there is any benefit here as it looks like it is simply a waiver for the station owners to not have to track the usage but they still want the vehicle operator to pay the $0.245/gallon tax? How would they do that? Provide a list of gallons of red dyed deisel used during the period on their personal tax return at the end of the year? WTF?

Even if they let you, I was reading on TDIClub that the dye does wonders on your fuel lines and DPF, so its still a bad idea.
