6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

Hey fella 6ers need some help. I have an 04 convertible and while I was removing the trunk carpet I unawarely pulled the emergency top release. The emergency top relese in the 6er convertible is 2 big plastic push rivots one on each side of the front of the trunk with a cable connected to them you cant see. My top worked perfect before now when i push the top button the green light just lights up but nothing happens. I have tried and tried to find the reset initalization but cant find it. Does anyone know how to do it. Please help out a fellow 6er...

I could not find any 6er info for the "emergency roof release". When you activate the release it disconnects the roof bowden cable from the motor.
I did find instructions on how to reconnect the cable for the 3 series, but it is a complicated procedure requiring a BMW factory diagnosis system to re-sync the motor. I think you will have to visit a dealer to reset the roof.

Thanks Yorgi...your BMW wisdom is once again exceptional. I use to have a 3series back in the day and got in a accident and i had to do the reinitalization procedure. Do you think i have to push the top motor back in place on the 6er? I am pretty good with cars so I am going to attempt the procedure. I will see what happens..Thanks Yorgi again...
