Help "Rear brake sensor
I just replaced my rear rotors and pads and at the same time decided to replace the wear sensor. Now I have a dash light on, i tried replacing with the worn pad, since it never hit the wear sensor and still have the light.
I put an ohm meter across the two leads and it shows a dead short between the leads. I did this on the old one and new one, they show the same. But it has the light. Do i need to reset this from a stealership or is there another solution.. 1998 328i Thanks very much Rob |

Check the connection of the sensor to the harness in the wheel well. The sensors operate as a continuous path (what you called a dead short). When it wears through it opens the circuit and you get a brake wear warning light. If you're getting a wear light with a new sensor, it's not making connection with the harness.
