2013 335i squeaking brakes

Hi everyone.

Has anyone experienced problems with the front brakes squeaking a lot. I have been having this problem since I took delivery and it is very noticeable at very low speeds.

Justin, let me know if you have any success getting the squeak sorted out. I am going to speak to my dealer tomorrow.

I haven't gotten my car back yet (ED in Sept) but mine started squealing pretty bad after about 500 miles in Europe. Mine is also an M-Sport. Let us know if you find anything out.

Oh and thanks for reminding me so I can have the dealer look at it before I pick up.

I don't know if you guys have upgraded brake pads or not but if you do thats pretty common for them to squeal at low speeds and cool temps (brake temps not environment temp).

msport has different brake pads than the other lines, they are dustier and make more noise. you can probably get the dealer to install the pads used on the other lines, the calipers at least on us spec cars are the same, just different pads.

the msport performance caliper upgrade will probably be just as bad or worse.... i had hawk hps pads on my S60R with brembos-- those took alot of work to keep quiet. i would have to remove the pads and grease the contact points every so often to keep them quiet.

I took our 2013 335i back for very noisy brakes, they replaced the pads all around! I think they are starting to get noisy again, let's hope not.

Did they use a different set of pad material? Did the squeak come back?

I have a 2013 328 and in the cold at low speeds my breaks squeak too. I have been to busy to call an ask my dealer so if anyone gets anything let me know. It's usually gone within 10 min of driving and I just keep going. It is crazy loud though.

Not sure if breaks are noisy again since we put in the garage for the winter months, yes they put same material pads back on I think I'll take for a cruise tomorrow and see if I hear it.

My fronts squeak on the first stop of the day at the end of the driveway, but are silent for the rest of the day. Might just be a bit of condensation from sitting overnight in my case. Car has 1300 miles now.

My non-sport ActiveHybrid 3 has squeaky brakes in the morning too that disappear after a block or two of driving. My A4 had the same thing. I've just gotten used to it and assumed that it's "normal", though yes it is slightly bothersome and embarrassing when driving around my apartment complex with people looking back to see what the noise is.

High performance brake pads can get glazed in city driving....try to do some really hard braking once in awhile to prevent it. My M3 never squeals, although I know that some do, so could be worth a try.

I took delivery of my car 3 days ago and when I back out of my drive way which has a slope on it. The breaks would squeal a lot. I have an 335xi M Sport. Hoping it's just breaking in and goes away. Anyone have any other thoughts.

Only this... brake squeal is caused by a vibrating brake pad. Either brake harder, or softer, to make it stop squealing.

Thanks... why would it vibrate? I think it is up to the mfg to design cars with brakes that doesn't squeal and not so much that I need to brake harder or softer. Heck, if I don't brake at all then it wouldn't squeal at all. How's that for a solution

My car has the factory installed M Sport brakes with blue Brembo callipers front and rear. These callipers (apart from colour) and pads are the same ones that come with the M Performance brakes that are offered as a port-installed option in the US.

So far, my brakes have not uttered a peep while performing with confident power. Unfortunately for US buyers, the factory installed M Sport brakes option (#2NH) is not currently available.

for those with the Msport package, do you have these vibration dampeners?
i just took delivery of a late november production M sport and noticed that the brakes have vibration dampeners attached to the calipers, i dont recall seeing them on prior pics
lots of brake dust, but no squealing, yet....

wondering if this was a production change.

Squeaking break on all other cars means replace break pad. But on BMW (or German cars), it's a feature, so I heard from a German hot chick.
