Unhappy Bluetooth Retrofit

Hello,

I purchased a 320i with a great discount, however there is no tech package in my car Sucks, because I thought that I would upgrade it in time, seems like I can't. I heard from someone that if there is no tech package in the car, it is not possible to retrofit usb and bluetooth connections, simply beacuse there isn't any base infrastructure. Just want to confirm with you guys if this is true. Hit me!

If your radio is Professional then it could be possible that both Bluetooth and USB are just disabled by coding (BT and USB cabling hardware required). Either your dealer can tell or by yourself looking at the back of the radio/iDrive unit.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know, there are 3 options for the radio. First is the basic, second is the hi-fi and third is with the Harman Kardon. My car has the basic, so I don't know if it is Professional. However, I have buttons on the steering wheel and on the iDrive for phone.

There is one radio (Professional CD; used to be a Business Radio but no more), two Navigation systems (Business or Professional) and 3 audio systems (Stereo, HiFi, Top HiFi) in the F30.

You need to check which type of iDrive unit your car has and then determine if Bluetooth is part of the build of that particular unit: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...60&hg=65&fg=05

For example, all USA Professional Radios have Bluetooth and USB standard -those features are built-in into the unit, cabling is separate (mic and socket).

You need to find out if you are lucky.
