Mine had been dropping, but the average took a big jump back up when I mounted the winter tires. The Goodyear Efficient Grips are suppose to offer low rolling resistance, but I wasn't doing well with them at all. My Pilot PA3 winters are also classified as LRR, and thus far have proved to be both more comfortable and more efficient. The former I was expecting (17" non-runflat), but the latter I was not.

Colder weather and dryer air lead to increased combustion efficiency.
However, additives are added to gasoline in the winter and typically MPGs go down.
