Does anybody know the part number of a 2013 7-Series floating rear entertainment system including the mount on the back? I wonder if this can be retrofitted?
Thanks in advance! |

Yes, there is a measure in ISTA/P for rear seat entertainment retrofit. There may be a part number for the kit, but I haven't come across it.
You'll need a lot; the monitors, of course...plus the rear brain, new rear center armrest with ZBE, remote, wiring and of course coding. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...id=55036&hg=65 |

Thanks itschase! To be frank, I'm really interested to learn how the monitor is mounted to the back seat. Already got 2 top-notch 9.2 inch Sony tablets from Japan. They can be wirelessly charged so there won't be tricky wiring needed. I just can't find a nice way to mount them just like BMW. I've been researching some car seat mounting racks, but found none that is concealing and firmly made.

I still can't find the part # for the LCI kidney grille, finally called my friend who works at a local BMW dealership and he advised me that BMW hasn't updated their BMW parts catalog since May of this year so a lot part #'s for parts on the LCI won't be available until the catalog is updated.
Here's a link to access the BMW parts catalog via BMW.com; http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...catalogue.html

Hummm you could go with the base support from the "travel comfort system" and build a system to hold the pad off of that. It's part 1 in the below diagram, BMW part number 51952183852, and avaible HERE.

For $20, you can give this a try - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218363391673
http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/pr...F-CARMNT2.html I have it in my wife's Mazda and it works really well. The only detraction is choosing which side to mount it on when you have 2 kids if you don't have 2 iPads. You may also want to ensure this doesn't push your headrest up too much for your liking - keep the receipt.

Someone who mounted it in their F10 - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...0&postcount=10
I'm not sure why they are mounting it so high, perhaps for the photograph? I would put it as low as possible, since it seems like the headrests on the F01 are pretty high in their lowest position from memory.
