won't start.
hi, my 1996 BMW Z3 roadster works perfect. Although once and awhile every once and a while when i pushed the clutch in and turned the key ...... nothing happened. Then i'd think i never had the clutch in far enough and do it again and it always started. One day a few weeks ago on a sunny nice day i started the car (no issues doing that) and put the top down and went for a nice drive.
i stopped by a hand car wash and washed it ....drove it out of the car wash and shined it up while listening to the stero. After done shining it ....jumoed in it and pushed the clutch in ....and "NOTHING" !! I pushed the clutch back in and turned the key... nuttin. lots of battery ... all lights on dash showed..... just nothing from the key to the system. So, i think its a wire or the key. Any thoughts ?? bob

i would see if you have batt voltage going in and out of the clutch position switch when you turn the key to start. i would also check batt volts with a good DVOM first. let us know what ya got on those 2 items then we will see if more checking is needed
