Has anyone tried this 2 Din 7" Touchscreen Car DVD Player?
http://www.autocarplaza.com/car-dvd-...h-can-bus.html
It says it's compatible with DSP models. Thanks! |

Looks like the defunct Hualigan (which I have in my car for the last 2 years and works very good). There were copies of the said unit, which this might be one of them, and the reviews were not great. The price is almost 1/2 of a Dynavin, but would you risk 5 bills in case it doesn't work?
Here's my unit: ![]()

Very nice Doru! Did your car have DSP? Thanks for your reply.

No.
To circumvent the DSP, you need a special pigtail. My friend designed it and Dynavin adopted it about 1 1/2 years back. Check on the Dynavin site how's done. You need that pigtail if you r car is DSP equipped.

You say that you have this unit for 2 years and it works very good. Why do you think that there is a risk in buying one? |

All these post-Hualigan units come with no warranty. Your choice. You're forewarned.

Hi
Doru - Good that your unit has held up pretty well ! njcardave - Have a look around on all the BMW forums and do a seach for 'chinese head units' or 'replacement head unit' - You'll see lots of these sorts of devices with all sorts of unheard of and typically Chinese sounding brand names. Have a read through all of the posts etc, and you'll find that either your unit 1. Arrives working, and crucially, continues to work fully and your happy with it. 2. Arrives 'sort of' working and 'sort of works' but will have annoying quirks with operation and/or user interface. Might longer term stay like that or develop more issues. 3. Arrives 'sort of' working and has a whole set of annoyances. Might longer term stay like that or develop even more annoying issues. 4. Arrives not working. 5. Doesn't arrive. For the US market, the best choice for any of the Chinese replacement units is the Dynavin one. Please speak to Jeff here in Fresno California who is the US importer and distributor for them;http://jandtdistributing.com/dynavinsolutions/ You have pre sales and after sales backup and support. Any of the other units you see around are a gamble with points 1-5 above. Cheers, Dennis! |

those dynavins are just so god damn expensive. can't justify dumping that kind of cash into a car as old as ours.

Albo has a new Eonon unit installed recently in his 530i, with good impression so far.

One micro USB port on the front, two full-size USB ports on the rear snd a dedicated iPod cable. It also has a dedicated microsd card slot as well as a microsd card slot for the GPS data. I've been streaming music/audiobooks through the Bluetooth quite nicely.

I haven't used the OBC in years. The only function I need is he fuel tank range and that's not dependent on the MID.
