Fortunately I've never needed a body shop, but I've seen good consumer reviews on the following:
Joe's auto body and custom painting, Kensington Collision Experts, Rockville A quality auto body and painting, Silver Spring |

If you are willing to go to VA - I love Wagon Work in Alexandria. Audi of America uses them - saw a sweet RS5 there in the Spring of 2010. I would stay away from the VOB/BMW of Rockville - they have been aweful when I used them.
There is also one in Gaithersburg that is supposed to be excellent (search on the E90 forums).

I agree, Wagon Works is IMHO the best body shop for german cars in the mid-atlantic region. I've used them with VW, Audi, MB and BMW for the last 20 years and they have always been perfect. Absolutely perfect, but... VERY expensive
