Braking Up Is Hard To Do...

At least for me in my 2012 X3.

Are there larger brake calipers and/or brake lines that will make braking somewhat easier, with shorter stopping distances?

I know, I know...slow down. But I'm talking about daily non-crazy driving, which now finds me having to really exert far too much pressure on the pedal to avoid meeting my neighbor's rear bumper.

I know that the X3 is much heavier than my 335d, but my question has to do with after-market changes to the braking system that will improve performance.

I do not drive off-road or on the track. Just the usual street and freeway stuff.

Thanks to all who respond with references/recommendations as to bona fide manufacturers and installers.

I live near San Diego (North County).

Richard

Interested in hearing what you dig up. I did take a peek and I was quite surprised how small the rear pads are...

Never thought the X3 needed better brakes. It is pretty much best in class for braking and C&D showed 70-0 braking of 165ft which is only 1 ft behind their 164 Ft stop in a 335i

Brake pad wear

I note the comment regarding the size of the rear brake pads. Is this why my vehicle status is showing 21000 miles left on the front pads but only 4500 miles on the rear - seems totally disproportionate.
