Smile Need left and right headlight assembly

A stone recently smashed a headlight. I am keen to buy both left and right headlight assembly for my otherwise immaculate 1983 5281 sedan.

Can you help?

Regards,

Ron D: ron@writeabilityworkshop.com

Need Headlight Assembly

Thanks Andy - Could you explain exactly what you mean? You may like to reply to my email, instead of taking up thread time on this forum: ron@writeabilityworkshop.com

Thank you.

What I mean (I am not taking up thread time) is that the buckets in the U.S. are different. You have the unsealed beams and your high beam is smaller then your low beam. In the U.S. both head lights are the same size and they are sealed. So as I was saying I can help you if you want to switch your car to the American style. I have 2 sets of good head light buckets.

Thank you, Andy. I was not aware of the significant differences. I will keep trying to source original lights for my model.

Cheers,

Ron

Don't get USA lights. They dip the wrong way. Hi Ron D, greetings from Perth (the other side of the island).

Thanks, I'm still hopeful someone in Aus (including Perth) will have a decent set to sell.

Hi Ron,

I've dealt with a good BMW wrecker in WA. He seems quite good to deal with, he posts items very quickly.
He's currently got head lights for our model. Maybe hit him up and see if you can get a good price.

Here's a set for the RHS, LHS also advertised: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-E28-R...#ht_500wt_1054

Why not just replace the broken light, you'll find them easier to source?

Stay away from US h/lights (as mentioned earlier).

Cheers,
PB

Headlights

Hi PB,

Thanks for that info. One lens is pitted and the other smashed, so I do need both replaced, otherwise I would just do the globes. BMW is quoting an unreasonable $450 EACH.

Cheers,

Ron
