BT and A2DP Streaming without cables?

OK, so I searched, and got more confused. I have Nav, but not tech pkg, and BMW apps (Which I have no idea what to do with). I want to wirelessly stream pandora through my car's audio system. . . .can it be done? How? I thought thats what A2DP meant, but haven't figured out how to set it up. Can it play both Pandora and any stored music on my phone?

Thanx,
Joel

you have to have enhanced BT with USB and BMW assist which are all part of the tech package or a $650 option

its not standard.

OK, I have Nav, smartphone integration, BMW assist with enhanced BT and USB, and BWM apps, does this mean I'm equipped? How do I execute? :-)

Assuming you have paired the phone to iDrive, then under telephone settings, highlight the phone, choose options, configure phone, make sure the 'Audio' box is checked.

Then everything you play on the phone will play via the car system.

It's good to become familiar with this process because if you ever plug your phone in to charge it you have to redo it.

Otherwise BT Audio streaming works great, I don't notice any difference in quality compared to other methods of playing music.

OK, so I enabled BT music in the telephone settings, and played Pandora on the phone, but it didn't connect with car, am I missing something?

In the Pandora app is a toolbar with an icon. You need to tap the icon to switch the audio output of the app from "iPhone" to "BMW". Check around the 3:00 mark of this video.

Normally reading the owners manual helps a lot, but I think that you really need a video and pictures: http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...cteddrive.aspx

Thanks guyz,(I think) but I have an android (razr maxx) and those links refer to iphones. Its a mutually beneficially environment here, us less-informed peeps ask questions, and hopefully the more-informed get to use their knowledge and share with others. Not everyone has the time and patience to RTFM, and most are happy to share. The Pandora app looks cool to get album art and info on the screen, but is it exclusive to iPhone?

I'm not happy to share when the info is one search away, but that is another thread.

If you re-read carefully that link then it clearly tells you that BMW Apps supports the iPhone exclusively for now.

A2DP is supported as long as your phone supports A2DP. And somebody else already posted how to do that.
