Wheel Bearing Cost and Parts

I read a post on here on how to change the wheel bearings in the X3. Is this something I can realistically do in the garage? I am a person that changes his own oil and breaks when needed. I want to start doing things myself in order to save money on mechanic fees. Your thoughts?

Also, I have been reading how its always a good rule of thumb to buy OEM parts. I would like to get an OEM wheel bearing. Where is the best place to find it online? Should I just order through the dealer?

Once I finish the install, do I need to clear any codes? I noticed a using a torque wrench was necessary. Is this true? Any suggestions on brand? What other tools do I need?

I know this is a ton of questions, but want to make sure I do it correctly. Thank you all.

You're welcome. If you do decide to tackle this job yourself never put any pressure on the center of the new bearing. Press only on the outer one piece race when pressing it in or you'll damage the bearing.

Ok. I may have my mechanic do it for me. I'll call him tomorrow. It's a.BMW place.

It's only 250 for each side. Looks like he will be doing the work.

Thanks again for all of the help.
