Comes and goes, battery is not that old. No effect except annoyance

Sounds like a problem with the voltage regulator.

Your battery may be new but overcharging it will kill it in short order. Like Herb said, you should get the alternator (with attached regulator) checked ASAP. The regulator is a $112 part that can be changed on its own.

I wonder if they properly registered the new battery to the car? If you have NCS Expert or DIS software, you may want to check it. If the car thinks it has a larger battery than it actualy has, it will continue to charge even when the battery is full.
