Is there any media storage device in this system or does it basically just play what's on my iphone/pandora/internet radio/etc? Curious if it sync's my music library and stores locally or just plays when the device is connected...

There's an inbuilt hard drive to rip music to if you want.

you can copy mp3 or rip CD's to the internal HDD. However, it can't transfer DRM-protected content (i.e. iTunes music on your i-device) to the internal HDD. With i-devices or DRM-protected media, it will use the BT-audio/USB connection.

It still will not read music from your iPhone into the internal hard drive (you can stream it via BT or USB though).

To get iTunes music onto the BMW hard drive, you need to export the iTunes music onto a USB stick and then use the stick to get it onto your BMW hard drive. It's a bit stupid if you ask me and inconvenient.

Thanks all... in preparation for the new B&O system, I'm trying to get my music library ready. I found a bunch of stuff that was downloaded or rip'd at really low bit rates. Current iTunes stuff is at 256k, so hopefully that still sounds good on the B&O. I'm not exactly an audiophile, but even I can hear the difference when a cymbal crashes on the low bitrate stuff.

I have been listening to my iPhone/iTunes stuff during my ED on the B&O and it sounds fantastic...definitely worth the extra expense IMO.
