Matt (without flipping back through idk how many pages) did you use the [IMG] links? Or attach it?

If you used the [IMG] links, then it isn't the highest resolution you have (they step it down). Emailing it separately to Karl will be a better image.

Yeah, I need whatever came out of the camera (or what was exported with photo editing software, if used) to be emailed as an attachment. The current photo posted in this thread isn't big enough to fill up an 8.5x11" page.

Okay, I wanted to take a minute to touch base with everyone regarding the collection of money for the calendars. As I see it, we can do it a few different ways:

1) Kickstarter - This would be a very easy and safe (for everyone) method to use, but if Kickstarter is used, they apply their own 5% fee (of the overall amount collected), and then Amazon also applies a credit card processing fee (typically between 3-5%). The safe part of this method is that we can set a funding goal, and if for ANY reason that financial goal is not met, all the money is immediately returned to everyone, automatically.
2) FundRazr - Seemingly just as convenient and safe as Kickstarter, but also involves various fees (5% FundRazr fee + PayPal fee, which is typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).
3) PayPal - This method is pretty messy and I'd rather avoid it if possible. It would basically amount to me providing my PayPal account info to everyone who requested a calendar, and then waiting for everyone's fee to be sent to me. If for some reason the financial goal is not met, I'd then have to return everyone's fee individually, which would take a long time. It's totally do-able, but just inconvenient. There are, however, still fees associated with using PayPal. If you transfer money via PayPal from your bank account, there is no fee. BUT, if you transfer money via PayPal using a credit or debit card, there is a 2.9% fee plus $0.30 per transaction.

Also, I went to the post office this weekend and determined exactly what it will cost to ship each calendar. With a calendar and manila envelope, it will cost $1.90/ea. Cost of the manila envelope will be about $0.20/ea.

So, thoughts on fee collection?

Yeah, I'd say kickstarter because it seems that it will have the least fees. If we all sent the money to Karl as a "gift" on paypal, we could eliminate all fees.... But that could get really messy.

I don't think you could avoid the fees even if you did this. Basically, if your PayPal account is linked to a credit or debit card, you have to pay a transaction fee. If it's linked to a bank account, there is no fee. Regardless, using PayPal would be really annoying if we don't reach our funding goal.

Still working on it. I still need a higher resolution photo from Matt (he's gotta have it somewhere), and once I get that I'll be able to process everything and get a solid number. I think that the out the door price with everything should be less than $15/ea. Probably closer to $13ea. The actual cost of the calendars is $9/ea, but then you have to add shipping, materials (envelopes), and transaction fees.

That sounds very reasonable for a bad"A" calander. If it makes it easier you could ship my calanders together. Thanks Karl!

As we found out with the "Bring Ken to Bimmerfest" fund everything gets kicked back at the end of 30 days if you haven't completed all the transactions.
