At this point we have one photo submitted, so we're looking at a 1-month calendar, or 12-months with each month having the same photo...

Since we can only submit one photo, I am making sure mine is GOOD. I will be submitting one by the end of the weekend though,

You should put people on a maybe list because 25 people say yes but not all are going to pay.

If someone backs out I'll buy 2. Home and Work.

I'm also waiting to get the right shot if we only get 1.

What are you shooting with? A 50mm?

My take at it, just some subtle edits.. Sky and powerlines changed.. Just enough to add to the photo, without distracting from the car.

Edit:
this particular shot was with a fixed 85mm f/1.8. Believe it or not I don't even own a "nifty fifty" ive got a fixed 35mm, fixed 85mm, and the kit lens which is 18-55mm

But if you're shooting with a fixed 35mm lens on an APS-C sensor, you're actually shooting with a fixed 53mm lens.

true, which is why i never bought an actual 55mm. my 85mm is an ooooooold pre SW AFS lens meaning, there's no drive motor in the lens which means it only has one mode on my new Nikon body and is waaaaaay sharper of a lens than my 35

I thought it looked a little longer than a 50, but most people just slap a 50mm on it and call it a day

I love the look of large aperture telephotos, especially the look of old manual lenses. In my opinion, lenses are like resturuants. Modern ones are like big corporations (mcd's, burger king). They go for consistancy of look. Early manual lenses are like mom and pop/hole in the wall places-- they are cheaper and way more unique, with desirable results.

my only gripe is that all of my lenses except the 85 are 52mm filter sized and the 85 is a 62mm filter so none of my filters work on it

What I do is when I buy specialty filters (CP's, NDs, etc) is buy in the size of my biggest lens (72mm) then use cheap step rings on eBay to adapt.

i feel left out of this camera talk....i no haz but a cheapo digi camera.

my father is a photographer, so i (sorta) get the gist of some of the process, but i do have a pretty cool idea for a shot of my car.

it'll be a shot for teh masses, meaning we'll all be able to relate. of course, if we do this again, (and honestly, why wouldn't we??) we can actually get seasonal themes all dialed in for everything. right?

I was thinking about throwing a Santa hat on my car, but we don't get snow. I'm sure I could find some leaves still and make a fall picture.

Unfortunately, due to how how the calendars are purchased, the next smallest batch we could buy would be 50 calendars, and we have nowhere near 50 people willing to buy, which is why I kept it at 25. I'll keep you in mind if someone backs out. And of course, you're still welcome to submit a photo for the calendar to be voted on.
