What's wrong with the 3 series ??

This might be a stupid topic but i was just wondering .....Why don't alot of people talk about the 3 series alot . Alot of people talk about almost every other BMW that has came out ...is it bad to have a topic on the 3 series ( especially the 328i ) ?? Can someone explains it

The 3 series is actually the most talked about vehicle in BMW's line up right now.
Its new and getting low marks by plenty of journalists. Caddy has that ATS thing
and apparently its good enough to be better than the 3 in some regards. The
335i just lost to both the ATS and C class from MB in the last head 2 head battle
Motor Trend had. Not much good news coming from the 3 series, but one piece
of good news is that the 328i is great. So, putting a four banger in the 3 seems
to have made many people happy.

The F30 forum has A LOT of talk about the 328i, and the competitors.

I don't endorse putting a 4 cylinder in these cars. I think it was a silly move.

Furby, EVERY 3 series has been available with a 4 cyl gasoline since the E21. In the US, they just often decided not to include it in the lineup. In Germany and Europe, the 3er has always come with a 4-cyl and been extremely popular. BMW knows how to build a 4 cyl and if you had a 328i recently as a loaner, I'd venture to say you'd find little difference in performance to your 330i; though it will make different noises.

Everything is relative. Gas prices in Europe demand offering 4 cyl engines, and BMW, Audi, and Mercedes have always offered them in their entry level cars. I had an E36 316i in Germany that was a pleasure to drive in comparison to other 4 cyl cars I had. My dad briefly had an E30 316i as well and it was a great little car.

Especially when mated to the manual gearboxes, these old 4 cyl did great. These days, a 4-cyl turbo with 8 speed automatic will out-accelerate an E36 M3!

Just wait until the 3 cylinders start hitting BMW's lineup. Purists will weep!

3 series has lost its way a bit since the E46
