e60 electrical issues Help!

Ok first I had an issue with the cars interior electronics nothing on the interior worked but the radio, the cluster was dead as well as idrive no power windows or seats and somthing was draining my battery overnight. so I located the micro power module in the trunk and pushed on the conection on it with a test lead that was grounded and when i touched the black wire that is connected to the mpm everything in the car came on including the climate controls but idrive had lots of error and every light on the clust was lit up . so while trouble shooting i touched that same black wire with my testlead but this it was connected to my positive battery lead,the cluster went off and so did idrive and the climate control and a little smoke came from the cluster area. Now i can communicate with the car a all with dis,sss,or inpa, the only thing that carsoft will do is erase memory faults. I have no idea where to start anyone have any idea, please help
