BMW 3/4 series Time capsule - 2022

I thought this would be a fun thread to start. I didn't see any when I searched threads, so if something like was already done, apologies.

Imagine this thread as a time capsule. If we read it 10 years, how prophetic will we be?

Where do see the 3/4-series heading, what features would you like to see, what worries you, and where do you see BMW's standing in the marketplace in 10 years? Here are some of my thoughts:

What I would like to see on the 2022 3/4-series

1. 350+hp with 50mpg - with fuel efficiency getting better it seems every year, i would love to see a nice strong power plant, whether's its the 4 cyl. turbo, or the I6 turbo, that gets ridiculous MPG. Given that fossil fuels aren't an unlimited resource, maybe this power doesn't even come from gas, so maybe mpg is no longer a valid specification. Either way, I want them to keep pumping up the power, while improving the gas mileage at the same time.

2. some kind of autodrive functionality - google's got a self driving car that's been around since 2010. I'd like to see this functionality perfected over the next 10 years and make it's way into the marketplace. Not something that drives all the time, something like a cruise control you can kick in when you need/want it. (Finally, no more Designated Driver)

3. Improved HUD - I love the HUD, I think there's a lot of potential for improvement. Full windshield integration, HD color/graphics, interactive, etc..

4. Fully Electronic dash interface - I'm thinking what's already in the new Tesla's, looks like a huge tablet.

5. Ventilated seats and butt massager standard in the 3 series.

6. AI that makes voice commands worth using.

My concerns for 2022:

Price of the 3 series doesn't show no signs of slowing down. I hope they don't price out a large segment of their fan base. I can almost foresee the 3 series being primarily driven by the elderly, it's heading there now. If it does keep going up, I can only hope if I'm paying 70K for a 3 series, my salary has gone up enough that i can afford it. Otherwise, I may be buying a used 2015 with 84K miles.

My expectations for 2022:

The 3/4 series will continue to grow, and will continue to be the go to performance luxury car. Overall, BMW will still be the leader in the performance luxury segment. I wouldn't be surprised if Audi, Cadillac, etc...dethrones them for a year, here and there, but ultimately BMW will be on top and show why it's the most valuable automotive brand in the world. I don't see that changing.
