Question Driver's Side Bi Xenon Bulb Won't Ignite, Please Help!

Hey what's up, everyone. Just got back from the shop and I have an issue with my front, driver's side headlight bulb: the sucker won't light up. It's a bi xenon bulb. The mechanic said the bulb was burned out but when he replaced it, it wouldn't ignite. So I had him test both bulb igniters and they work fine so there must be another issue. That's why I'm here. Any ideas? Are there driver and passenger side headlight fuses? The main fuse under the front dash is fine.

How about the ballasts?

Also, FYI, the bi-xenon feature is a function of the shutter built into the headlight projectors rather than the D2S bulb, which is used in many single- and bi-xenon headlight systems.

Yeah, the ballasts are the igniters. They're fine.

The ballasts and igniters are actually separate parts in our cars' headlights. See part nos. 11 and 16 in the diagram linked below. When troubleshooting a xenon headlight that won't light up, mechanics and DIYers typically swap the bulbs, ballasts, and igniters from one side to the other - one component at a time.

Oh, I see. Jeez, I really hope it's not the ballast... that thing is not cheap. I did, however, swap the igniters from side to side; wish there were two ballasts lol. Thanks, I'll mention the ballast to the other mechanic I'm taking the car to later this week.

There are two ballasts, one per side. If you have already swapped ignitors and bulbs and it didnt fix the issue, your problem is a ballast. They fail; I've had to replace one. A new one is a couple hundred bucks, but you can roll the dice on eBay sometimes for about $50.
