Halo lights

I own a 2007 328i, i bought it with the standard headlights however I was looking to get halo lights for it, now my question is do I need to get entire two halo headlights or I can just get the halo lights and install them onto my standard headlights? Please help.

You'll have to replace the housings unless you plan on getting really creative.

If you know how to dissemble the headlight housing then you could just retrofit the halos.

The DRL portion of one headlight is out, I would be interested in knowing if it can be replaced also rather than a whole headlight replacement. Does anybody know if they have seperate fuses (new/used '09 328xi to us so not much time under the hood yet).

Coupe or sedan? Are we talking halo ring or the inner light area? Lots of variables here.

@bocabimmer: sedan, I think the halo ring or maybe both as no light comes from the left side when the DRL is on. Is this simply an H8 bulb replacement?

Sedan makes it easier... If the halo is out, that is a halogen bulb in the back of the light. If the one in the inner part of the light is out, and assuming you don't have xenons, that's your high beam bulb that is dimmed for DRL. You can check that by turning on your high beams.

@Bocabimmer: sedan and it was easy, simply the H8 bulb, thanks for the info. The car has the Xenon's. Appears to be the second bulb replacement as the sticker was already torn but only on that side. My wife paired her phone to the car and ended up talking to the BMW call center, they told her the battery cable needs replacement as a warranty item, I assume they know if it has been swapped out via the VIN. I have to say, it's been a long time since we owned a Bimmer (an old 320i) and I am very impressed with the car so far (2 days of having it), lots of very cool features and best of all the wife is really happy. For all the complaints I heard about the idrive, this one has it and so far it's not too bad, time will tell.

Your options are either to get OEM housings, aftermarket, or crack your housings open yourself and wiring something in (would have to be all custom and I doubt it would look good).
