Reverse bumper lights

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and am the proud owner of a 2007 650i. I was curious if the rear bumper reverse lights from the 2008 650i would fit the 2007.....didn't know if they would just be a simple plug n play upgrade or not.

I don't think so. If you look at a picture of an 08, the bumper lights are a very different shape. 07 to 08 was the LCI update. You may be able to swap bumpers to get those lights? Not sure if it would require any coding or not. There are LOTS of threads on people upgrading lights (head lights, Angel eyes, side markers, ect...). A quick search should give you lots of ideas.

Thanks Mulchman......yeah there are little things I'd like to upgrade on the car. Rear tail lights to the 2008 LED turn signal is a must. Damn parts are expensive!

For the record I'm perfectly fine with my pre-LCI 2007 650. With a July 07 build date it was one of the last ones. The only mod is a short shift kit and i am considering a Dinan intake and software, but cosmetically it looks stock.

+1, I am fine with the way my car is in relation to the LCI model. The changes are just too subtle to really be worthwhile in my book.

FredoinSF, i too am wanting to get a short throw shifter on the 650. I came from driving a 2007 G35 coupe 6-speed and man did it have a tight gearbox! that's the first mod I am going to invest in. the only one i've seen is one bavauto.com.....any one have and feedback on this or recommend any other brands/sites?

+2 Love the looks of the 07 6er. But I did buy LED's for the AE's to turn my rings from yellow to white. The original owner did the M6 bumpers, skirts and wheels.

do you have any pics of the before and after of the LED's for AEs? i too wish to change mine to white but i don't know how reliable some of the aftermarket kits are.....last thing i want is to find out it's triggering error codes, ect.

I just bought some from Roseng (forum member) that should be here today or Monday at the latest. I'll go take a picture now and post both after the install. Maybe we can get him to tell us what they are and what his new ones are?

I have the Rogue version on the 6er. Got it from Turner motorwerks. That and bypassing the CDV transformed the feel of the car.
The UUC is also a good unit. Had one on a previous BMW, but I am happy with the Rogue.

I got my first set of AE's from these guys. Not bad to deal with. I also got LED turn signals and interiors from them.

The LED's have great color but even the brightest aftermarket LED AE's are not close to the current BMW AE lights. Still I'm glad I did the update.

If you are interested, I do have a set of MTEC HID H7 bulbs for the DRL's for sale. I used them for a about a week and then reprogrammed the car so they are not needed any more.

Mulchman, they look great! so i notice your rockin an M6 front bumper on your 650i.....did you end up removing the fog lights all together? I'm thinking about picking up an OEM M6 kit, but was wondering what is typically done with the fogs and the wiring??

Mine came that way (second owner). When I pulled the bumper I found the fogs taped up and stashed (at least the wiring). The button was also disabled in the car.

Mulchman,

These are the 5w LED's without the optional headlight leak feature .

I was happy with them and I'm glad you happy too. They really look much better than stock yellow, IMHO. I'm a bit sorry I went for the new ones now.

For anyone interested I got them here.
