When finding your 'go-to' mechanic, how did you do so?
Did you guys drive around until you found a reputable bmw mechanic that wouldn't overcharge you?
Did you google local bmw mechanics? Referred by a friend? Use the dealership? Curious to see how you guys found your mechanics. |

Are you looking for a good mechanic or a cheap mechanic? You can have one or the other but not both.
Look at the shop, is it neat and organized? Ask about the diagnstic tools that they have. Ask about the information system that they use (most use Mitchell's or All Data). Ask them if they do "flushes" or just fluid exchanges. Ask them if they have references that you could call. Are the mechanics ASE Certified? Then get them to do some small routine work for you and see how that goes. If they can be "trusted with little", the can PROBABLY be trusted with much. |
