New Member few questions..

I recently bought a 91 318i convertible with around 160K miles in very good shape inside and out feel like i got it for a good price of $1800.. needs a few things that im already starting on one is a very slight oil leak and the other is a wheel bearing starting to whine a little bit but other than that shes good. I was wanting to maybe do a few things to it starting with an exhaust. i was just gonna take it to a shop and have them make one but idk if i should loose the cats and maybe just put a test pipe or something in there..i dont want it to be to obnoxious but i like it to be nice and deep what would be best for that pipe diameter wise and cat vs. no cat wise and mufflers? Thanks

I M experience 1/2" over standard is enough for a road use car without excessive extra noise. Also remember it's only a 1.8 with a fairly heavy load. It will never be that quick. Don't forget to do brakes, suspension and steering as well.
