Well, you could have failed motor mounts, which would allow the fan to hit the fan shroud under acceleration, but then not hit while decelerating and/or idling. Just to be clear, are you certain it's coming from the engine bay and not one of the front wheels?

I somewhat doubt it's a suspension related issue, especially since it goes away when you let off the gas. Here's another question: can you make the noise happen if you are parked and just rev the engine somewhat hard while in neutral?

If it doesn't do it when revved in neutral, put it in gear and hold the brake to keep from moving, then press down on the accelerator pedal. If it does it then, it's definitely motor mounts.

Mine is making the same noise. Started right after I had new tires installed. Pretty sure it's coming from drivers side front wheel. Any idea what would be causing that noise?
