97 528i Rims fit 01 525i??

I have looked at numerous wheel fitment websites and have come up with different answers. Some even said my 01 525i has 72.5 hub Obviously wrong. So will those 15x7 bbs wheels from a 97 528i fit my 01 525i? Thanks.

Well I had 2002 525i rims on my 97 540. I think* all e39 rims are interchangeable, but I am sure I will stand corrected. But if you have the sport packege you need 16" or larger. What size is on your car right now?

I know the wheels do.

It has to fit because the Front wheel bearing is the same for all 1996-2003 5-series (528i, 530i, 525i, 540i).

Check realoem for BMW PN 31221093427.

PS: The exception is M5, which uses different front bearings.

It's not quite this simple. True hubs are the same, but the specific models use different diameter rotors. 15" wheels will NOT fit 530 & 540.

If '97 uses same diameter rotors as '01 525, then you're OK.

Does sticker on "B" pillar say 15" wheels/tires are OK?

15"s wont fit on any E39 w/sport pkg either.

I use 15" cheap-o Borbet snow tire rims on my 528i sport. In fact I just put them back on for the winter last weekend.

yes they will fit. the brake rotors on the '97-'00 528i and your 525i are exactly the same so you won't have clearance issues

I run 15" snows on my '00 528iTM w/sport.

hmm. I was always under the impression the the 15" wheels wont clear the front brakes. Thus I have been searching for 16" winter wheels and have been passing up on 15" wheels. I guess that only applys to the 540? not fitting 15s that is.

That's right, I can't put 540 brakes on my car because I wouldn't be able to use my snow tire rims, maybe eventually I'll get bigger ones. I don't think it has anything to do with sport/non-sport.
