Fixxfest

Just got home from fixxfest first time going kind of dissapointed how many v-dubs were there compared to bmw's, only seen three E39's. I wish I lived closer to where bimmerfest is hosted.

Bunch of Fixx VW's in Tampa.... where did they have the Fixx fest at? I tried taking my 335i to some eurofest in Northdale at Lettuce lake and was the only non-VW I saw. pretty much a waste of time. I rather do the classic car shows.

Oh, good deal man. That's a good place to have it. Love that strip. I just don't really mesh well with VW folk. I find the car and the people very quirky. I mean that nicely, but I just can't get into VW's and seems like everyone that drives one fits the stereotype. As for the car my wife has bought two (2) brand new VW's and both were gone by the 3rd oil change. Heep O Steaming Shizi.

Google Jetta TDI Fuel pump failure. $7,000-$10,000 repair. Ours failed on a 18 month old $28,000 car with 22,000 miles. With a 7 month pregnant wife. thank god I was in the car with her when it happen. In rush hour tampa traffic in May heat. Took them a week to fix it. I thought b/c the HPFP is engine mounted and driven we would at least keep car for the duration of the powertrain warranty.... WRONG. F'n dealer and even a VW customer regional rep/manger told me it's a bumper to bumper item. 3yr/36k. and they offered me an additional 10k/1yr. F that. I traded it in the following day for a C300 CPO with 35k. GAS motor. never looked back. There are thousands of these things blowing up, even multiple times. Some as soon as 4k on new cars. VW blames our crappy US diesel. I blame them for selling a crappy pump where they knew we have crappy diesel. my 335i TT BMW had a HPFP recall. I never had an issue, but a lot of 335 guys have. BMW did the work in 1 day and extended the warranty. Nobody has had issues with the new improved pump. VW needs to follow suite. Safecar.gov has a file on this issue with VW. Not doing much good. 20/20 did a better job for 335i users.
