M60M44 Swap

I have a 97 non vanos 540i and Im excited bc today I have just found some clean m60 heads complete fairly cheap. I know there are a couple guys running this set up in e30's so I searched for parts. I have heads,timing covers.

I believe that bmwmech1 has this set up and from reading the posts on e30 tech looks like the CR will be 10.94:1 and I have also read that there is a guy out there that is running an m60 with larger injectors for e85 and milled his heads 1.6mm to put him at 12.5:1 and I want to be around 11.8-12 . how much would need to be milled off to get to where I want to be? I'm horrible at math

I will get a tune and injectors before the swap.

M60 heads are identical other than smaller chambers bc they had a smaller bore which adds more compression
They also have an extra set of teeth for the timing chain on the cams, Hotter or lumpier cams

Wiki lists the M60 as having 4+ horsepower over the M62? I am curious if that is true.

Any documentation on the gains associated with the compression bump?

No documentation as of yet but i'd like to do a before and after if I put the heads on before the stroker.

What is stock m62 compressiom?

Should be a difference you can feel. Keep us posted if it comes to fruition.
