2008 gasoline or 2009 Diesel, about to buy an used X5
Hi, All:
I had couple of choice for now, have to buy a bigger family car before year end, just sold my BMW 3 and now driving my wife's mini, then you guys know it.i have couple of choice and mainly want a quiet, comfort but fun-driving car, of course, I alway like higher MPG 1. Craigslist, 2008 3.0si, 55k miles premium package, technology package, cold weather package, running board...etc expect can get it around $26500 2. Craigslist, 2009 X5 35D, 38K miles, premium, technology, cold weather, climate, active ventilated seat package, pretty much loaded everything except sport package. probably can get it around $34000 3. CPO, 2009 X5 35D, 44K, cold weather package, iphone adpator, it's minimum loaded, about $34500 which way to go? |

the CPO one sure does, but is this a good idea to get a pretty much base BMW?

Get the "in service date" on the fully loaded BMW.
From that, you can calculate how many more months of warranty you have left. Last edited by RockChips; 11-29-2012 at 07:33 PM. |

Sorry, but I do not quite understand what you mean, one is CPO and obviously it has 2 years more warranty
One is 2009 and is abut to expire infew month, but if the car is running good, wha's the point to go to dealer anyway. I think I should ask in a simpler way, Market value wise, which one is better, thanks |

Market value wise all X5s will be worthless when the new X5 comes out.

I would study the repair history before making decision. I personally like the X5 35D I got. So if all looks the same, I vote for diesel.

They won't be "worthless" but as with any car the previous style models are not as desirable so they drop in value to a degree. Of course, that might be off set somewhat by new model glitches and problems!
