BMW Assist location transmission issue

I called BMW assist today to activate my account for the M5. They were able to do the activation but said the car had not transmitted its location to them. I made a second call ten minutes later and still location was not being transmitted. This was outdoors with clear line of sight. Navigation was working fine.

Any idea what may be the underlying cause here? Does it just need a simple software reset?

So they were able to connect to your car, but not to determine where it is? Very strange. I'm honestly not sure what pegs the location of the car for assist. I would assume it's the same GPS as the nav module, but you know what they say about assumptions.

I'd let the car power down and up and then try again, otherwise to the dealer.

There were some reports a while back about cars not being taken out of "transport mode" by the re-delivery dealer

Thanks. This could be it. We rushed the dealer to release the car because I had scheduled a detailer that morning.
